Effect of Task Oriented Training on Functional Mobility in Children with Cerebral Palsy: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Authors
Abstract:
Background and purpose: A lot of research has been done on the effectiveness of rehabilitation treatment in children with cerebral palsy. Functional mobility is one of the significant aspects in treatment of these children. This systematic meta-analysis aimed at reviewing the studies on the effectiveness of task oriented training on functional mobility in children with cerebral palsy. Materials and methods: All articles about the effectiveness of task oriented training for functional mobility in children with cerebral palsy in English or Persian, published until January 2020, were studied by a thorough search in electronic databases, including Medline, Embase, CINAHL, PubMed, PsychInfo, Web of Science, Magiran, ISC, and SID. After screening and assessing the quality of research papers and applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, data was analyzed by Comprehensive meta-analysis software (CMA). Results: Out of 345 articles, eight met the inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis showed that task oriented training had more significant effect on functional mobility than other conventional approaches in children with cerebral palsy (P=0.000). Conclusion: Task oriented approach could be used as a treatment method in improving functional mobility in children with cerebral palsy.

Effects of task-oriented training on mobility function in children with cerebral palsy.
BACKGROUND/PURPOSE Improvement in mobility function has been the primary goal in the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy. Few studies have examined the effectiveness of task-oriented strength training for children with cerebral palsy. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of task-oriented strength training on mobility function in children with cerebral palsy. STUDY D...
full textIntensive training of motor function and functional skills among young children with cerebral palsy: a systematic review and meta-analysis
BACKGROUND Young children with cerebral palsy (CP) receive a variety of interventions to prevent and/or reduce activity limitations and participation restrictions. Some of these interventions are intensive, and it is a challenge to identify the optimal intensity. Therefore, the objective of this systematic review was to describe and categorise intensive motor function and functional skills trai...

OBJECTIVE To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis using the International Classification of Functioning to determine the summary effect of electrical stimulation on impairment and activity limitations relevant to gait problems of children with cerebral palsy. METHODS We identified 40 cerebral palsy and electrical stimulation studies, and 17 gait studies qualified for inclusion. Apply...
full textThe Effect of using Wii balance board on functional balance in children with Ataxic Cerebral Palsy
Abstract Objective: Ataxic cerebral palsy has an incidence of 5- 10 percent among the general population of children with cerebral palsy. It is characterized by poor balance and coordination, in addition to clumsiness, involuntary tremor and poorly developed equilibrium responses. As a result, balance training is one of the most important parts of the rehabilitation program in children with At...

full textThe Effect of Exercise Training on Inflammatory Markers in Patient with Metabolic Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Introduction: Metabolic syndrome is associated with an increase in chronic inflammation, in which exercise training may be an effective intervention for the improvement of inflammatory markers. Accordingly, this study aimed to investigate the effect of exercise training on the inflammatory markers of interleukin 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and C-reactive protein (CRP) in pati...
